ARTIST INFORMATION
Dick Aerts (1956) studied at the Academy for Visual Arts in Utrecht. He specialized in figurative sculpting. His realistic figures are not reflections of reality, they are visualisations of ideas and thoughts. Some from the mind of the artists, some from classical stories. Dick Aerts has a studio in an old bastion in Utrecht, where famous Dutch sculptor Pieter d’Hont used to work before him. The environment breathes inspiration, and this is visible in the sculptures. Despite the high amount of figuration, the works show the expression of the artist. These lively sculptures are regular guests in many exhibitions in Holland, among which the quality art fair ‘Realism’ in Amsterdam.
