ARTIST INFORMATION

Daniëlle van Broekhoven (1975)

The same fascination with which Danielle van Broekhoven dissects nature goes for her love for the act of painting itself. She mixes her colours endlessly, until it reaches the right nuance. She studies the behaviour of paint on different linens or cottons, on thinning her paint in different ways, and the way oil- and acrylic paint react on each other. Her works do not only reflect her love for and special view on nature, but also show what new reality is hidden in paint and painting. Daniëlle van Broekhoven has done several solo-exhibitions in Dutch galleries, had her first museum exhibition last year, and was nominated for the De Pont studio prize.
