Barbara Nanning (1957)

In her glass sculptures, Barbara Nanning unites classical techniques and Eastern visual language with modern design and Dutch simplicity. The objects, which she covers with a layer of 22,5 or 12 carats gold, remind the viewer of objects from nature because of their organic shape. It is not surprising that nature is a big source of inspiration for Barbara Nanning. She has had many solo and group exhibitions in Holland and abroad. Her work is in the collection of Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Boymans van Beuningen in Rotterdam, Museum of Fine Art in Boston, Museum fir Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg en Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art in Japan.
