Hans Parlevliet (1953)

The realist Hans Parlevliet has applied himself to making paintings. He prefers painting landscapes, most of them dipped in late sunlight. Characteristic for his work are the rhythm in the landscapes, the alternation of growth, water and bare fields, often in a strict, sometimes symmetrical composition. The landscapes are decorated with animals and minimal architectural shapes. The paintings of Hans Parlevliet can have a somewhat estranging atmosphere. For the attentive viewer he sometimes puts a small joke somewhere in the painting.
