ARTIST INFORMATION

Anne Marie Spijker (1963) studied at the art academy in Tilburg and the prestigious Rijksacademie from 1987 to 1989. She uses the material as the base for her work. Her fantasy landscapes are created by experimenting and playing with paint. Acryl, oil, graffiti and lacquer make an interesting combination. Unusual materials like buttons give the canvasses an interesting twist. Anne Marie Spijker exhibited in leading galleries and showed her work in the Dutch TV programme ‘Avro kunstblik’. In 1995, her work was nominated for the ‘Koninklijke Subsidie voor Vrije Schilderkunst’ (Royal Subsidy for Autonomous Painting) art prize.
