ARTIST INFORMATION

Winnie Teschmacher (1958, Rotterdam)

That glass can be much more than applied objects is illustrated by the artwork of Winnie Teschmacher. She blows, cuts and polishes the glass into intriguing shapes that reveal an inner beauty. The thick glass contains many layers that invite the viewer to look at them. They evoke illusions and feelings. The artist aims to bring the viewer in a state of attention and amazement. Exhibitions in different galleries and participation in important international art fairs like PAN Amsterdam and SOFA Chicago provided a lot of attention for her work. Museum Boijmans van Beuningen (Rotterdam), Nationaal Glasmuseum, Leerdam, Museum van der Togt, Amstelveen, Rabobank and many other companies have some of her works objects in their collection. In 1992, Winnie Teschmacher won the Bernadine de Neeve art prize.
