Mark de Weijer (1963)

Mark de Weijer explores and tries to expand the boundaries of the art of painting. He researches the possibilities of art in three-dimensional space and the refinement of the surface. In the case of his applied art, there is a third aspect to his work: the art of painting as a utensil. The combination of these three categories gives his work the possibility to take different shapes and gives different layers of meaning to every work. His art is to be seen in galleries, museums and design manifestations in Holland and is used in the interior of different buildings, including the conference room of the Second Chamber in The Hague.
