ARTIST INFORMATION

Ron van der Werf (1958, Apeldoorn) works from an inner force. He does not have an image in mind of what his finished product must look like. It is not until he has put the different shapes, contradictions and colors from his feeling onto the canvas, that he understands what it is he wants to create. This makes his work a form of abstraction that is similar to that of music. Without a figurative meaning or idea, a pure composition of loose notes. Ron van der Werf uses a lot of white shades that change into brown or blue variants. On top of that he uses different layers of transparent earthly colors. The combination of the material, the color and the composition radiates a benevolent peace. Ron van der Werf was in the top 50 of the Dutch ´Artist of the year 2005´ election. His work is regularly exhibited in many different galleries.
